Wavefront Aberrometry: A point source is projected onto the retina. Reflected light passes through the eye’s optics and hits a Hartmann-Shack sensor (microlens array), splitting the wavefront into sub-apertures. Spot displacements are analyzed to calculate low-order (sphere/cylinder) and high-order aberrations (spherical, coma, trefoil, etc.) up to 7th order (35 terms) for total, corneal, and internal ocular aberrations.
Corneal Topography: Utilizes Topcon’s Rotary Prism technology to project 13,680 points (38 rings) of infrared Placido discs onto the cornea. Reflected ring distortion is computed to derive corneal curvature, power, astigmatism, aberrations, and shape over a 11mm diameter.
Integrated Analysis: Simultaneously captures refraction, keratometry, and pupillometry; automatically identifies aberration sources (corneal/internal) and generates visual quality metrics (MTF, PSF)TOPCON.
