DeｓcriptionThe DYN-X-MA Series pressure sensor is a ±1.0% sensorideal for general melt pressure measurements requiringsimple installation, repeatability and reliability. TheDYN-X-MA sensor provides the industry standard 4-20mA amplified signal designed to work with DCS andPLCs. The DYN-X-MA comes equipped with adjustablezero and span side-mounted potentiometers. DYN-X-MASeries sensors can be rezeroed in two ways: locally viathe zero potentiometer, or remotely via shorting two pinstogether (contact closure). Optional thermocouple or RTDconfigurations are available to provide melt temperature.The DYN-X-MA features a 1/2-20 UNF thread for simpleand easy installation in standard transducer mountingholes. The 4-20 mA output signal is rated PL‘c’ as describedin the Machinery Directive EN ISO 13849-1. The DYN-X-MASeries sensors are self-certified based on the evaluationreports of the respected third-party agency, exida™.The DYN-X-MA Series sensors have undergone extensiveFMEDA analysis (Failure Mode Effects and DiagnosticAnalysis). The FMEDA reports show that these sensorshave been evaluated for random failure requirements andmeet Performance Level ‘c’ (PL‘c’) as well as SIL2 (SafetyIntegrity Level 2). The information in the FMEDA report canbe used by the customer’s system designer as part of theoverall qualification of the device in the system for PL‘c’or SIL compliance. The DYN-X-MA Series can be equippedwith a safety relay, separate from the signal output. CalledGuardian, this optional relay signal has an applicationspecific pressure threshold setting that will place a machinein a safe mode as described in the Machinery DirectiveEN ISO 13849-1.
