Background Information: NGF-beta has nerve growth stimulating activity ａnd the complex is involved in the regulation of growth ａnd the differentiation of sympathetic ａnd certain sensory neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory ａnd autonomic neuropathy, type 5 （HSAN5）, ａnd dysregulation of this gene＇s expression is associated with allergic rhinitis. The presence of beta NGF in immune cells ａnd endocrine cells as well as in the CNS limbic areas suggests that beta NGF may function as an intracellular messenger to regulate the body’s response to stress. This product is produced in a human cell expression system with serum-free, chemically defined media.
