The MP-3 Microperimeter uses a real-time 3D eye-tracking system to precisely project light stimuli of varying intensities onto the macular region of the retina. A built-in 12-megapixel non-mydriatic fundus camera captures real-time retinal images, allowing accurate superimposition of stimulus locations onto the retinal anatomy. When the patient perceives the light and presses the response button, the system records the light sensitivity threshold at that point, creating a functional map of the macula while simultaneously analyzing fixation stability.
