粉末涂料质量的优劣主要体现在相辅相成的两个方面：一方面是以涂层性能为表现主体，兼有固化特性，如光泽、流平性、抗冲击性能等。
另一方面是以涂装特性为表现主体，如粉末的粒径大小和分布、自由流动性（如松散性）和荷电特性等。
粉末涂装过程，对粉末涂料的自由流动性、荷电能力（直接影响到上粉效果）非常关注。
而粉末常见的结团问题，对所有粉末生产和使用单位都造成了直接的困扰。天气炎热、湿度高、磨粉机长时间运转等情况常常引起粉末结团。
解决的途径通常从两方面入手：
一是提高树脂（如聚酯）的玻璃化温度和软化点，减低树脂的反应活性（延长固化或胶化时间）；
二是从粉碎生产工艺入手，如添加流动和疏松助剂（如气相氧化铝、气相硅和微粉蜡），采用冷气冷却磨腔和管路系统等。生产实践中，更有效的方法是采用适当的冷风冷却。
ACM 磨在磨粉过程中通过强制冷风冷却，一方面可降低或消除成品粉末的结团几率，另一方面可提高粉碎效率，粉末粒径分布也更合理。结合实际状况探讨粉碎过程降温和冷风冷却的工艺方法等，采用压缩机制冷方式可有效控制温度调节，加快冷却效率提高产量合格率。
