ZBXN 型吸泥机用于污水处理厂圆形二沉池，将沉降在池底的污泥刮集至一组沿半径方向布置的吸泥管管口，再通过中心排泥管排出，以便污泥回流或浓缩脱水，同时将池面的浮渣撇向集渣斗，通过集渣斗排出池外，以便进一步处理。

构造及工作过程：ZBXN 型系列吸泥机如图 1 所示为周边传动虹吸式，由兼作输泥槽的主梁、吸泥管系、虹吸抽空系统、中心泥罐、中心回转轴承、驱动装置、撇渣装置、集电器、控制柜等构成。

主梁由置于周边的驱动装置带动，绕池中心轴线旋转，沉积在池底的污泥由刮泥板刮集至各吸泥口，在液位差的作用下，污泥经吸泥口，输泥槽、虹吸管、中心泥罐、中心排泥管排至污泥坑。每个吸泥管上端设有调节器，以调节各吸泥管的流量分配。同时，液面上的浮渣向随主梁旋转的撇渣板和周边浮渣挡板形成的渐缩区域内集中，直至其封闭边—刮渣摆臂。当摆臂抵达集渣斗时，由摆臂上的刮渣板刮至集泥斗。
