Overview:

This instrument utilizes laser and electrical power. Incorrect use may result in personal injury or damage to the equipment. To ensure the safety of the operator and the integrity of the instrument, any operational procedures not explicitly described in the manual must be approved by the manufacturer's maintenance engineer or application specialist.

The Asphalt Infrared Spectrometer is a specialized analytical instrument based on Fourier Transｆorm Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) technology, primarily used for the rapid qualitative and quantitative analysis of petroleum asphalt and its modified products. By detecting the absorption characteristics of asphalt samples at different infrared wavelengths, it generates "fingerprint" spectra that reflect the molecular structure. This equipment is commonly used to determine the content of SBS modifiers, evaluate the degree of asphalt aging (Carbonyl Index), and authenticate materials. Featuring simple sample preparation (typically using the ATR method), fast detection speed, and high precision, it is an ideal tool for highway engineering and material quality control.

Environmental Conditions:

Our FTIR spectrometer series and accessories are designed for indoor use at altitudes ranging from 0 to 2,000 meters (or 6,500 feet).

They operate reliably at temperatures between 16°C and 25°C (60°F to 78°F). They can be temporarily exposed to temperatures below -10°C (e.g., during transportation) without compromising their reliability.

FTIR spectrometers require a dry operating environment, as the beamsplitter, detector, and other components may be corroded by moisture. Relative humidity should be maintained between 20% and 60%, non-condensing. Therefore, the FTIR spectrometer series must be sealed, and the indoor air should be kept dry.
