工业冷风机的类型分别有一体式冷风机和分体式冷风机。
所谓的一体式和分体式，是相对于冷气制冷系统当中的蒸发器和冷凝器是否在同一个壳体里面来说的；当蒸发器和冷凝器都在同一个壳体里面的时候，这台机器就是整体式的；当蒸发器和冷凝器处在两个不同的壳体里面，中间靠铜管连接起来的就是分体式的。
分体式冷风机主要由两大部分组成:室外机和室内机。
室外机负责压缩机散热热风排放，室内机负责将空气制冷，并通过风管将冷空气输送到室内需冷却机械设备，以达到降温的效果。
工作原理：冷风机通电后，制冷系统内制冷剂的低压蒸汽压缩机吸入并压缩为高压蒸汽后排至冷凝器。同时轴流风扇吸入的室外空气流经冷凝器，带走制冷剂放出的热量，使高压制冷剂蒸汽凝结为高压液体。高压液体经过过滤器、节流阀后喷入蒸发器，并在相应的低压下蒸发，吸取周围的热量。同时贯流风机使用空气不断进入蒸发器的肋片间进行换热，并将放热后变冷的空气送到室内需冷却机械设备。如此室内空气不断循环流动，经过蒸发器达到低温出风目的。
