而精密冷水机不同，在实验室环境下，精密冷水机可提供精准的温控，比如0.1度~0.5度左右。这个精度在一些特殊生产工艺如：测试、精密材料检测、精密仪器冷却水系统等，需要保证循环冷却水进水恒温或高精度，以便数据或产品性能稳定。
精密冷水机不仅对温度的要求高，同时在冷却水流量、水压、水质等状况也有不少要求。比如光学组件、精密磁场对流量的波动干涉敏感，需要精准控制水流量。
