超声波雪厚监测站通过安装于固定高度的超声波传感器向下方液位面发射超声波，根据回波延迟测定待测液位面高度，即雪厚或者水位的无人值守式连续在线监测系统。同时具备自动温度补偿功能，可以根据实况温度，对非理想环境下的超声波传播速度进行补偿完善，更加准确的测量下方液位面的相对高度，并对此类雪厚水位等液位高度研究提供连续准确的数据支持。
