SQX1型隧道风速风向仪为隧道应用型，检测探头安装在隧道墙壁上，为隧道总控室提供隧道内风速、风向检测值，作为通风和营运的基本依据。检测器可以现场实时观测仪器运行状态及检测数据，同时数据输出接口输出的模拟和开关量信号可接入附近的分控室内地PLC，再通过数据光端机和光纤接入总控室。
