1．钻机开箱后，将钻机固定在不同的工作台面上，如固定在混凝土上用电钻打一个∮9*50孔一个，然后把膨胀螺栓按在此孔处，将钻机移至固定位置，安装紧。如固定在其他工作台面上，配一个M12*120的螺丝，以同样的方法固定。
2．钻机固定好后，拉出进给滑架和变速箱，装上切割工作台和夹具，装回进给滑架和变速箱。将芯样装在夹具内，将主轴上的钻头拆下，换上锯片，接所需芯样高度，然后用进给手柄调节，接通水源，水源对准锯片入口，保持水源流量在3-5M/min，然后进行切割，（如对∮50芯样切割时，先切一半，然后再将芯样转180度切断），芯样按规定高度多出2-3m/m.。
