螺旋式曝气搅拌机是拥有两套独立的动力系统，即鼓风机马达和主马达，分别承担提供压缩空气和推动搅拌水体动力的功能或具有类似功能的系统。它的运行模式可分为曝气并搅拌推流及搅拌推流不曝气二种：
曝气搅拌模式
此模式状态下，鼓风机马达和主马达同时开启，鼓风机马达为风机提供动力；主马达主要用于提供两组螺旋桨的旋转动力，以推动和混合水体，同时，与二螺旋桨一体化的空气雾化器将鼓风机提供的压缩空气流切割成雾状云形微气泡。此时的功能为曝气与搅拌相结合。
搅拌不曝气模式
此模式状态下，鼓风机马达关闭，只开启主马达；此时鼓风机不供气，则整个系统将不对水体充氧；主马达驱动螺旋桨为水体提供混合和推动力。该模式可适应反硝化脱氮阶段缺氧条件下的防止污泥沉降和推动水体要求。此时仅起到搅拌机的功能。

7、传动轴经平衡处理，采用轴承支撑，可以在含有较大固体颗粒和沙砾的场合中得以应用
