框式搅拌机可视为桨式搅拌机的变形，其结构比较坚固，搅动物料量大。如果这类搅拌机底部形状和反应釜下封头形状相似时，通常称为锚式搅拌机。框式搅拌机直径较大，一般取反应器内径的2/39/10，5070r/min。使用于低粘度液体时，锚式叶轮的叶径与罐径比为0.70.9，对于高黏度液体则为0.80.95，转速通常为1050r/min。框式搅拌机与釜壁间隙较小，有利于传热过程的进行，快速旋转时，搅拌机叶片所带动的液体把静止层从反应釜壁上带下来;慢速旋转时，有刮板的搅拌机能产生良好的热传导。这类搅拌机常用于传热、晶析操作和高粘度液体、高浓度淤浆和沉降性淤浆的搅拌。
主要配件
锚式、框式搅拌机属于同一类，统称锚框式搅拌机，为了增大搅拌范围和带走罐壁上的残留物或液层，锚框式搅拌机的外廓要接近搅拌罐的内壁，其底部的形状为适应罐底的轮廓也有椭圆、锥形等。为了增大对高粘度物料的搅拌范围以及提高叶轮的刚性，还常常要在锚式及框式上增加一些立叶和横梁，这样使得锚框式的结构形状出现了多种多样。

注意事项：
在用于高粘度流体的搅拌时，随流体粘度的增高，罐内的流动减少，由传动装置传入的能量作为叶轮和流体的摩擦(剪切)消耗掉的比例增大。从搅拌效果看，在叶片近旁有液体的交换，然而在轴的附近则存在几乎不起搅拌作用的部分，使用变形框式叶轮(在框式上增加斜叶横梁或立叶)，可视情况改善，然而仍不能全部解决问题。要使高黏度流体完全流动非要用螺带式叶轮那样具有强制液体进行挤出流动的叶轮然而，与螺带式叶轮相比，锚式叶轮的价格低，在叶径和转速相同时，锚框式搅拌器仅为螺带的2/3，因此对那些不特别强调混合效果的场合，往往选用锚式叶轮。

在特殊场合，为了消除锚式叶轮剪切力不大，以及轴附近有混合死区的缺点，可以用框式叶轮与多层涡轮式叶轮组合成同轴线双周搅拌机。同时为了能利用其叶片与罐底和罐壁贴近的优点以获得更高的传热效果，还可以在锚式叶轮的叶片上安装刮板，不断刮去易于附着在罐壁上的液体。
